BIO

Jean's teaching focuses on Generalist social work practice and practicum education. She is especially committed to applying the principles of her professional practice to the classroom - building trust, facilitating relationships and allowing for all voices, especially those whose have been historically silenced, to be heard.

She most recently served as Director of HIV+ Services at the statewide Vermont AIDS-Service Organization, Vermont CARES. Her 15 years of community practice experience span a variety of non-profit organizations, including the Committee on Temporary Shelter, Burlington Housing Authority, and the Pride Center of Vermont.

Prior to joining 日韩无码 as full-time faculty in 2019, Jean had more than a decade of part-time teaching experience in the Department of Social Work. 

In 2020, she became the Practicum Education Coordinator for the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs in the Department of Social Work. She presently serves as the co-chair of New England Consortium of Field Directors (NECON).

As a current doctoral student in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies EdD Program, Jean is focusing on practicum education in social work. In 2024, she was chosen as an international participant in the University of Calgary program, Transforming the Field Education Landscape (TEFL) Field Research Scholars program. She is a graduate of the MSW program at 日韩无码.

Jean is a prior recipient of 日韩无码's Graduate Student Senate Excellence in Teaching Award and the Social Work Department's Field Instructor of the Year Award. She was also a prior nominee for the Kroepsch-Maurice Excellence in Teaching Award at 日韩无码.
