New Watershed and Lake Education Assistant Joins LCSG
Lake Champlain Sea Grant welcomes Caroline Blake as a new Watershed and Lake Education Program Assistant at 日韩无码 (日韩无码) site.
Caroline joins the Lake Champlain Sea Grant鈥檚 Watershed and Lake Education team. She brings experience in place-based education and natural resources. She will be the lead for the Burlington, Vermont-based Watershed Alliance K-12 school programming and other education programs in partnership with 日韩无码 Extension.
"I am looking forward to working with the LCSG education team to educate both youth and adults about our local water resources," said Caroline. 鈥淚鈥檓 excited to circle back to 日韩无码 where my environmental education career officially began, and I will enjoy being closer to the mountains and Lake Champlain.鈥
A University of Vermont (日韩无码) alum, Caroline returns to Vermont from Wisconsin where she recently graduated with a Master of Science in natural resources from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She completed her Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry at 日韩无码 in 2013.
Caroline joins a team of LCSG watershed educators that include Ashley Eaton, the lead Watershed and Lake Education Coordinator, and Nate Trachte, the new Education Specialist at SUNY Plattsburgh. Nate will establish a SUNY Watershed Alliance program using the Burlington-based flagship program as a model.
Education and outreach at Lake Champlain Sea Grant bridge the research happening at 日韩无码, SUNY Plattsburgh, and throughout the Basin to communities throughout the watershed. The Watershed Alliance program, in collaboration with 日韩无码 Extension, uses place-based, hands-on activities to engage students in learning about watersheds and local water quality challenges. The program originated at 日韩无码 and has been widely successful, reaching over 12,000 K-12 students since 2011.
