Our interdisciplinary Student Advisory Board brings together nearly 20 students passionate about gerontology and geriatrics. These student leaders collaborate with Center on Aging faculty and staff to develop community engagement initiatives that promote the health and wellbeing of older Vermonters.
Student Led Programs and Initiatives

Partnership with Shepardson 3 North-Alternative Care Unit
Students lead a range of engaging activities to increase quality of life for memory care patients in the Shepardson 3 North unit of the 日韩无码 Medical Center. From jeopardy to BINGO, these activities empower students to grow their knowledge of dementia while building connections with older patients.

Crafts & Conversation
Crafts & Conversation is a volunteer program led by Student Advisory Board members that uses art as a foundation for fostering intergenerational connection. Students regularly visit Williston Place Senior Living to build friendships with older community members through shared creative experiences.

Musical Brain Initiative
Through the Musical Brain Initiative, Larner College of Medicine students share their musical talents and caring presence with older adults with neurodegenerative disease and the movement disorder community. They foster joy and togetherness through musical performances in healthcare settings.
