Chief Information Officer

Dr. Kellie Campbell comes to ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë from the Vermont State Colleges System (VSCS), for which she served as Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Technology. Campbell provided leadership, management, and strategy for the Information Technology (IT) shared services division and helped shepherd the transformation of the VSCS by leading the launch of the system’s first shared services organization and supporting many efforts to successfully consolidate and launch Vermont State University. As Chief Information Officer for ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë, Kellie is the lead executive responsible for information technology across the institution. Reporting to the president, Kellie serves on the senior leadership team, contributing to university efforts broadly as a subject matter expert in information technology. Kellie is responsible for the vision and long-term planning for information technology consistent with the mission and goals of the university. Kellie holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration and management and received her Doctor of Education in Higher Education through Northeastern University. She has extensive experience in project and change management, strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management, and is a leader in system and digital transformation.

Deputy Chief Information Officer

Darcy Pientka has been a member of higher education institutions for over 25 years and has grown in the technology field by doing everything from basic networking and supporting the help desk operations to serving in various leadership roles from assistant technology director for multiple institutions to Information Security Officer. With a Mathematics degree from ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë, she has a basis in problem-solving that has been applicable throughout her career. For 20 years, she played an integral role at ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë focused on research, administrative, and educational support at the Larner College of Medicine at ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë, and is continuing the valuable work of the institution as the Deputy CIO.

Mike has a degree in Computer Science from ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë and started his career as a student employee in ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë's central IT organization. Mike has a passion for leading a great team of professionals who build scalable, reliable, and secure IT systems and services that meet campus needs and enhance ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë's research, scholarship, and administration.

Randy Spooner

Randy Spooner has 37 years of expertise running critical Network infrastructures at ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë. He has a degree in Computer Science from ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë and started his career as a student employee in ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë's Academic IT organization. Randy leads a dedicated team that designs, builds, delivers, and maintains ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë’s connectivity which is essential to ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë's research, scholarship, teaching, and community outreach missions. His group’s responsibilities include managing redundant Internet and Internet 2 connectivity, I2 UCANN connectivity for eligible Vermont institutions, ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë’s critical infrastructures including VoIP, Wireless, Firewalls, VPNs, the County DWDM network, the 10 GB wave systems to New York and New Hampshire, as well as daily operations of the ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë Core network and building distribution down to the end user.
