BIO

Kahlil Sucgang Apuzen-Ito is an indigenous Kanakana-ey agroecology practitioner and soil scientist working on agrarian reform land rights, agroecology transition, soil health and regeneration, land rehabilitation, biodiversity, multiple ways of knowing, gender equity, food security, indigenous and farmer-led participatory action research and co-production of knowledge with indigenous and local farming communities in the Philippines and internationally. She is the Agroecology Research and Development Unit head for the Foundation for Agrarian Reform Cooperatives in Mindanao (FARMCOOP) and the co-founder of the International Alliance for Sustainable Family Farming where she coordinates with banana agroecology farmer, civil society, and labor union organizations located in Peru, Ecuador, UK, and Germany. In addition to her work, she is interested in the intersections of knowledge co-creation, land stewardship, cultural transformation, and community building.
