The IfA has partnered with and the McKnight Foundation's to offer training on transformative agroecology for professionals and practitioners. These trainings are meant to support co-learning for practitioners of agroecology working in a variety of contexts. Our aim is to inspire, inform and skill-up participants to become more effective agents of change for a more just and sustainable food system. Participants will learn through case studies, exploring the latest ideas in agroecology, peer-to-peer learning, class discussions, leading agroecology guest speakers and through meaningful projects and assignments.

El IfA se ha asociado con Stats4SD y la McKnight Foundation's Global Collaboration for Resilient Food Systems para ofrecer formación sobre agroecología transformadora a profesionales, practicantes y líderes en agroecología. Estas formaciones pretenden apoyar el aprendizaje conjunto de los y las profesionales de la agroecología que trabajan en diversos contextos. Nuestro objetivo es inspirar, informar y capacitar a los y las participantes para que se conviertan en agentes de cambio más eficaces en pro de un sistema alimentario más justo y sostenible. Los y las participantes aprenderán a través de estudios de casos, explorando las últimas ideas en agroecología, aprendizaje entre iguales, debates en clase, ponentes invitados destacados en agroecología y a través de proyectos y tareas significativas.

L'IfA s'est associée à Stats4SD et à la Collaboration mondiale pour des systèmes alimentaires résilients de la Fondation McKnight pour offrir une formation transformatrice en agroécologie aux professionnels, praticiens et dirigeants de l'agroécologie. Ces formations visent à soutenir l’apprentissage conjoint de professionnels de l’agroécologie qui travaillent dans des contextes variés. Notre objectif est d'inspirer, d'informer et de responsabiliser les participants afin qu'ils deviennent des agents de changement plus efficaces pour un système alimentaire plus juste et plus durable. Les participants apprendront à travers des études de cas, en explorant les dernières idées en agroécologie, l'apprentissage par les pairs, des discussions en classe, des conférenciers invités en agroécologie et à travers des projets et des missions significatifs.

Disrupting Industrial Discourse by Organising Grassroots Innovation

March 11 - April 16

Extractive technology actors threaten to increase their control over food systems and further an antisocial narrative on innovation. This course seeks to raise awareness of these issues within civil society organizations and provide a space for sharing innovation experiences at the grassroots level. The course will explore the diverse dimensions of the agroecology-innovation nexus.

Este curso introductorio busca compartir sobre la historia de la agroecología como ciencia, práctica y movimiento, la agroecología en su amplitud (diversas formas de conocimiento) y sus dimensiones, particularmente la agroecología transformadora, sociocultural y las interacciones entre estas con lo biofísico.

This introductory course seeks to share about the history of agroecology as a science, practice and movement, agroecology in its breadth (diverse forms of knowledge) and its dimensions, particularly transformative, sociocultural agroecology and the interactions between these with the biophysical.

Participatory Action Research and Popular Knowledge

En este curso, cada participante diseñará una propuesta de investigación con los valores, conceptos, fases, principios, métodos y técnicas que empoderan a las comunidades para enfrentar retos diversos en la transformación agroecológica, con las perspectivas de los movimientos de base, haciendo investigación creativa, popular, apropiada y transformadora.

In this course, each participant will design a research proposal with the values, concepts, phases, principles, methods and techniques that empower communities to face diverse challenges in agroecological transformation, with the perspectives of grassroots movements, doing creative, popular, appropriate and transformative research.

Agroécologie Transdisciplinaire

Transdisciplinary Agroecology

Ce cours s'appuie sur l'expérience antérieure des participants pour construire des itinéraires de réflexion et de travail collectif sur des thèmes contemporains comme le changement climatique et les pratiques agroécologiques. Pour comprendre les transitions agroécologiques au sens ample, et donc aussi une transition dans la manière de créer le savoir, nous adoptons dans le cours même une approche transdisciplinaire, ouvert à un dialogue entre différentes formes de savoir.

This course draws on the previous experience of participants to build itineraries of reflection and collective work on contemporary themes such as climate change and agroecological practices. To understand agroecological transitions in the broad sense, and therefore also a transition in the way of creating knowledge, we adopt in the course itself a transdisciplinary approach, open to a dialogue between different forms of knowledge.
