Active Threat Response Training
Body

Active Threat Response is an hour long course which uses national data from past active threat incidents to inform a Run, Hide, Fight curriculum.

 

AED/CPR, Stop the Bleed, Narcan Training
Body

Visit  CAT ECare to learn more about campus CAT ECare emergency stations which include Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), bleeding control kits, and Narcan®.

Communities Acting to Refer and Engage (C.A.R.E.)
Body

The Communities Acting to Refer and Engage (C.A.R.E.) training aims to equip participants with strategies to prevent and respond to violence effectively, while also promoting community health and resiliency. The key objectives are to boost participants' confidence in becoming Engaged Bystanders and to help them identify local resources and services available in their community. (2 hrs.)

Compliance Training

Compliance Services works closely with the University community to promote an institutional culture of compliance and thus prevent and effectively address violations of law, regulations and University policy and protocols.

Comprehensive Campus Safety
Body

Participants will learn about the Division of Safety and Compliance's key campus safety and security initiatives, review the 5 tenets for personal safety, explore basic de-escalation techniques, highlight self-defense concepts, learn active threat response techniques, and explore how to report signs of targeted violence. This training serves as a great introduction to multiple topics, providing essential knowledge to enhance personal and community safety. (1 hr.)

De-Escalation & Communication Strategies

De-escalation & Communication Strategies - A conversation about the strategic application of communication techniques and other non-physical methods to stabilize, slow down, or diminish the intensity of a situation. This approach aims to defuse tensions and promote a calmer atmosphere without resorting to physical force. By employing effective communication strategies, individuals can navigate encounters with heightened emotions or potential conflicts, fostering a safer and more constructive environment.

Driver Certification Process and Training
Body

ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë students, faculty and staff are eligible to become authorized to drive ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë owned, leased or rented vehicles while conducting University business. Authorized Drivers operating ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë owned, leased or rented vehicles for ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë-related business including ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë-sponsored activities are covered by ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë's automobile insurance.

Enhance Your Personal Safety

The Enhance Your Personal Safety training is an introductory training that aims to encourage proactive thinking and awareness around general personal safety and security. This training leverages the content available on the Division Safety and Security Tips web page.

Environmental Health and Safety Training
Body

ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë must ensure that all employees, students, and other affiliates are made aware of workplace and campus hazards. This education must also include and assessment of the risks associated with those hazards, the measures that we use to control those risks. This training may apply to chemical, biological, radiological, and physical hazards in labs as well as in other workplaces. Training in control of hazardous energies, working at heights and use of power tools may also be required. EHS promotes the health and safety of the campus community by providing training, outreach, and education.

Policy Training
What to Do: Suspicious or Unattended Item
Body

This session leverages information and resources from the United States Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and focuses on how to determine whether an item is suspicious (potentially harmful) or simply unattended, helping you prepare and react appropriately. (30 mins.)

The Office of Compliance and Privacy Services supports the University's vision and goals by partnering with leaders across the university. We aim to prevent and detect criminal conduct and to otherwise promote an institutional culture that encourages ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with the law.
