The TRC is home to a collection of research and outreach programs that help carry out the Center鈥檚 mission to advance sustainable and resilient transportation systems in Vermont and beyond. We are proud to be recognized as filling key niches in research for rural and micropolitan areas, creative partnerships for workforce development, and quality outreach and education.

National Center for Sustainable Transportation

The 日韩无码 Transportation Research Center is one of six University members that make up the听听(NCST), a consortium led by UC Davis.听The NCST is one of five national centers funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation鈥檚 University Transportation Centers (UTC) Program, and the only national center focused on the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) research priority area of Preserving the Environment.

Transportation Infrastructure Durability Center

The 日韩无码 Transportation Research Center is one of six New England University members that make up the听(TIDC). The听TIDC听was established in 2018 by the USDOT and is led by the University of Maine. The Center focuses its research efforts on improving the durability and extending the life of transportation infrastructure in New England and beyond through an integrated collaboration of universities, State DOTs and industry. The research focuses on real DOT needs, guided by a distinguished advisory board of DOT representatives from five New England states. The TIDC serves to strengthen and augment State DOTs research programs as well as national research efforts. The research motive is to help DOTs extend the life of existing infrastructure as well as construct new, longer-lasting assets.听

Northeast Transportation Workforce Center

The听听(NETWC) is one of five regional surface transportation workforce centers, established in 2014 by FHWA. The Center is based at 日韩无码 TRC, and in collaboration with The Center for Advanced Infrastructure & Transportation (CAIT) serves 11 states and the District of Columbia. The Center works closely with the FHWA Center for Transportation Workforce Development to ensure that the U.S. surface transportation system has a workforce that is resilient, skilled, efficient and effective in designing, operating, building and maintaining a 21st century transportation system that best supports the region and country鈥檚 social and economic vitality.

Vermont Clean Cities Coalition

The听(VTCCC) was designated by the U.S. Department of Energy in 2001 and has been housed at the 日韩无码 Transportation Research Center since 2007.听 VTCCC serves as a convener and catalyst across the state, bringing entities together who share a vision of reduced petroleum consumption and increased energy efficient mobility systems in Vermont鈥檚 transportation sector. The coalition provides technical assistance and access to research-based findings about best practices for commercial and institutional fleets, and offer outreach and educational programming to municipalities, businesses and other stakeholders.
