Micro-Certificate of Graduate Study in Scientific Computing

The College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences offers an interdisciplinary Micro-Certificate of Graduate Study in Scientific Computing (mCGS-SC).

Given the critical role that scientific computing plays in many fields of science and engineering, this mCGS-SC program will train students on theoretical and practical skills of scientific computing, preparing them for a wide range of job opportunities in the public sector, industry, and academia. Students completing the program are expected to acquire in-depth knowledge of numerical methods for scientific computing, their implementations (including coding), and their applications to real-world problems in science and engineering.

Any current PhD, MS or Accelerated MS student at 日韩无码 may pursue this program to augment their degree. 

This mCGS-SC requires two core courses and one elective course selected from a pre-approved list (see below).

All existing 日韩无码 graduate students with a 3.0 or above GPA who have successfully completed the prerequisites for the two required certificate courses will be admitted into the program. These students need to enroll in the mCGS-SC no later than having finished their first course that will count toward the program. 

Students seeking to enroll in the program must first submit an application to the Graduate College at:

In addition, students should notify the Program Coordinator at the same time. Students must also submit a program plan to the Program Coordinator upon enrollment to the mCGS-SC and must submit a Program Completion form to the Graduate College to initiate awarding of the credential. After a student is enrolled, they will be assigned a participating faculty member as their certificate advisor by the Program Coordinator.
