Dear Larner Community,
As we enter our holiday break and approach a new year, I hope you will take time to reflect on the many contributions you all have provided. Our students and trainees are progressing to meaningful careers in medicine and science. Our research accomplishments are many and varied, spanning from vaccine development to rural cancer survivorship. And, our clinical service, from primary care to highly specialized procedures, provides high-quality care to our special population in excess of one million. Because of each of you, the Larner College of Medicine continues to make an impact in our community and the world.
This year has also brought unique challenges to every institution of higher learning and to every health sciences campus, including our own. Nevertheless, I鈥檓 confident that our star will continue to shine bright as together, we aspire to support patient care, research, and education that are second to none.
I hope you all have an opportunity to enjoy time with friends and loved ones. As we celebrate, please acknowledge and thank those who will be covering our clinical and other essential services during this time.
I鈥檓 grateful for all you do and wish you the very best in the coming year.
Warm regards,
Richard L. Page, M.D.
