MARCH! A Celebration of Leaders in Gender Equity

Every March, the Women and Gender Equity Center and Student Government Association join forces to celebrate and honor the invaluable contributions of individuals on our campus dedicated to promoting gender equity and intersectional belonging.

Dear 日韩无码 community members, 

It's time to recognize those who have made a difference at 日韩无码. We encourage you to nominate students, staff, and faculty who have significantly impacted our community through their work and relationships. Nominees should embody the values of collaboration, empowerment, solidarity with marginalized populations, courage, and creativity to promote equity within our community. 

Let鈥檚 unite to recognize and celebrate the individuals who have profoundly impacted 日韩无码 and made a lasting difference in our community.

    Time: 5:00 to 7:30 pm (Doors open at 4:30 pm)
    Location: The Dudley H. Davis Center

Award Categories:

Social Justice Activist Award
Body

Recipients will have demonstrated outstanding work in intersectional feminist activism.

Outstanding Athlete Award
Body

Recipients will have demonstrated significant achievements in their sport, academics, service to their community, and work towards gender equity.

Edith Hendley Award
Body

Recipients will have demonstrated excellence in research, scholarship, teaching, and for their dedicated service to women. 

This award includes a $250 cash prize.

Mariafranca Morselli Leadership Award
Body

Recipients will have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, academic excellence in the sciences, and significant contributions to the awareness on campus of the rights of women. 

This award includes a $250 cash prize.

Lydia Dodge Award
Body

Recipients of this award are recognized for their exceptional contributions to the WAGE Center. They embody dedication, leadership, and community engagement鈥攙alues that enrich our mission and inspire transformative dialogue.

The Women of 日韩无码鈥檚 Mary Martha Whitworth Award
Body

This award is in honor of Mary Martha Whitworth of Vermont, an educator and author who died in 2019 at the age of 79. Mary Martha advocated for women, girls, and children鈥檚 rights. She directed her considerable talent and energy to support women and educators throughout her life. She promoted self-esteem, confidence building, and equity, especially for women and girls. Mary Martha鈥檚 passions drove her to make positive changes in people鈥檚 lives and to travel the world. She was a success at both. 

This award is to recognize an undergraduate woman who excels in areas of study and campus or community activities or associations and helps advance the position of women. In nominating a student for this award, please speak to at least three of these criteria:

  • Strong advocate for women and women鈥檚 issues, demonstrated by her involvement in one or more activities that help advance the position of women and/or children on campus or in the community.
  • Exhibits leadership skills and is a role model for other women and girls.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to social justice and to empowering women.
  • Dedicated to helping women and/or girls achieve their goals.
  • Advocates for positive social change to create a more equitable society.
  • Exhibits qualities of teamwork, integrity, and dedication.
  • Respected within the 日韩无码 community.

This honor currently carries a monetary award of $1,000. 

You cannot nominate yourself for this award.

The Women of 日韩无码 Mary Martha Whitworth Award is sponsored and funded by the Women of 日韩无码, a more than 100-year-old social group whose mission is to promote the well-being and happiness of women through their physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual health. While its roots are tied to 日韩无码, it is now an independent organization with 850 members. Mary Martha was a proud member of the Women of 日韩无码.

Outstanding Faculty Award
Body

Recipients of the Faculty Outstanding Award are recognized for their exemplary leadership in advancing gender equity at 日韩无码. These faculty members have consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to creating inclusive academic environments through innovative teaching practices, pioneering research, and active campus engagement.

Outstanding Staff Award
Body

Recipients will have demonstrated significant contributions to gender equity at 日韩无码.
