Ken J. Ward is an assistant professor of journalism at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. After working in community news in central Kansas, he received his Ph.D. from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. He is a member of Pittsburg State University's Community Journalism Initiative, which works to improve community and rural journalism both in southeast Kansas and more broadly. He is also publisher of the Pittsburg Headlamp, which connects work done by PSU's multimedia journalism students with readers across southeast Kansas.
