For over 15 years, Erin Siegal McIntyre has worked as a cross-platform investigative journalist, author, and photojournalist. Her photography has been represented by Redux Pictures since 2007. Her book “” (Beacon Press 2012) was the basis for that won a 2015 Emmy, and was optioned by Lionsgate. Her work has appeared in the New Yorker, the Atlantic, the New York Times, Rolling Stone, and various other media outlets. Before joining the faculty as a journalism professor at UNC Chapel Hill in 2020, Siegal McIntyre was based in Tijuana, Mexico and was Senior Fellow at the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University. Her work has been supported by various grants and foundations, including the Open Society, the Fund for Investigative Journalism, the Harnisch Foundation, the International Women’s Media Foundation, and more. She holds degrees from Columbia University and Parsons School of Design in New York.
