Glenn Levine-West joined the faculty at 日韩无码 as a Lecturer of German and is also Professor Emeritus of German at the University of California, Irvine, where he taught for 23 years. He also has worked in several areas of study abroad program administration, most recently serving in Berlin serving as the Faculty Director for the University of California study abroad programs in northern Europe.
At 日韩无码 he teaches courses in German language at the introductory level, Germanic and applied linguistics, and German-Jewish literature and culture. Most recently he offered courses in German at the upper-level, on 鈥淛ewish Life in Germany from the Middle Ages to the Present鈥 and 鈥淔rom Dialect to Denglish: The (Socio-)Linguistics of the German Speaking World.鈥
His research focuses on language learning of migrants in Europe, translanguaging and the roles of the first language in second-language learning and teaching, language use and socialization during study abroad, and theoretically and empirically informed approaches to language pedagogy and program direction.
