Last weekend, the Grossman Student Advisory Committee (GSAC) hosted the fifth annual Grossman Dean鈥檚 Cup Case Competition at the Grossman School of Business.

This one-day business case competition is an opportunity for 日韩无码 undergraduate students to apply their analytics skills outside the classroom, make strong connections with 日韩无码 faculty, alumni and business leaders in the greater Burlington area, practice their presentation skills, and also have a chance to win cash prizes. It鈥檚 also a chance for students to prepare for larger case competitions against other schools from around the world.

Students were tasked with applying what they have learned within the classroom to solve real-world business challenges. To prepare the case, 10 teams of 3-4 students had ten days to refine their recommendations and analyses before presenting their findings in real-time to the judging panel who evaluated their various, innovative case solutions.

Professor Thomas Chittenden鈥檚 closing remarks highlighted the hard work of the GSAC team. This year鈥檚 Grossman鈥檚 Deans Cup was entirely student organized and facilitated with leadership from President Drew Bates, Vice President Aedan Knowlton, along with Zoe Macdonald and Christian Penkrat.

鈥淚 decided to participate in the Dean鈥檚 Cup because I wanted to the opportunity to challenge myself and compete against my peers. I loved the camaraderie around the event and wanted to join in!鈥 said Molly Feeney (鈥23).

The judging panel was made up of several faculty, alumni, and business leaders, including business school Professor Rocki-Lee DeWitt, lead judge and case organizer, and George Wrenn, a 日韩无码 alumni working who came in from Boston as a senior associate consultant at Bain and Company. The panel provided insightful feedback to the competitors and highlighted opportunities for improvement and growth in future case competitions.

This year鈥檚 winners include:

  • First place: Marley St. Pierre, Alex Rubin, Ruby Blunt, and Otto Berkmueller
  • Second place: Molly Feeney, Jaeda Dean, and Hannah Bohmann
  • Best presenter: Sam Knox

A tremendous congratulations and thank you to all the GSAC members, student competitors, coaches, and judges!
